The most important ingredient to making handy wipes sanitary is rubbing alcohol. To prevent your hands from getting too dry or irritated from the rubbing alcohol, you can add a moisturizing ingredient like essential oils, aloe, or tea tree oil. As long as the solution you mix contains 60% rubbing alcohol you’ll have effective sanitizing wipes.
Rubbing alcohol is a highly effective disinfectant and dries quickly, which makes it a great choice for DIY handy wipes. Soak iT Up Cloths allows you to reuse and remake wipes for months because they can be washed and put in the microwave to sterilize. So smart!

Thick, strong, compostable Soak iT Up Cloths work great because they won’t fall apart like paper towels and are environmentally friendly.
The CDC says alcohol (both isopropyl and ethyl) are most effective against bacteria, viruses, and fungi when alcohol makes up at least 60-90% of a solution.
These easy, disinfecting, homemade wipes are perfect for on-the-go cleaning. With just three simple ingredients, you’ll save time and money and promote a happy environment.
